Pottsboro Citywide Garage Sale April 5 & April 6
Thank you for participating in this great annual event! Check back for info on 2024 Citywide Garage Sale!
Back for a 4th Year!
The Citywide garage sale has become a staple of your Spring Cleaning season!
Running from 8 am - 5 pm both Friday, April 5, and Saturday, April 6 - the event is a great time to dust off some of those old collectibles in the house and offer them at a fair and reasonable price to community members looking for a good deal!
Each garage sale spot is owned in full by the private citizen hosting that sale. The Chamber does not warrant and cannot be held liable for private citizen sales, experiences, or services. All concerns should be handled civilly between both parties.
Ready to Shop?
Garage Sale Shopping is a fun and unique way to get to know your community. To see what people collect - connect with people you see - and just explore the area in which you live - you're always guaranteed to find something interesting when you go Garage Sale-ing.
So how does it work for the two days of the Citywide Garage sale?
On the mornings of April 5 and April 6, the interactive map will go live at 7:30 am on this site. From that map, you will see pin drops and addresses of all the garages that were registered for this event. Utilizing your mobile device and a maps app it will give you pinpoint directions to each garage sale.
If you like a little more traditional experience then paper maps will be available at the Pottsboro Chamber of Commerce parking lot at 7:30 am for pickup.
What to Expect on the Citywide Garage Sale Days?
Just like any garage sale situation - every garage is different! Each garage will manage their own payment sources and rules for saving items, etc.
To have the best experience we suggest the following for shoppers:
Bring some bags to safely transports your purchases
If you're looking for bigger items bring the truck ahead of time - you never know
Don't forget the tie-downs
Always park legally along streets and curbs. DO NOT block driveways and intersections.
Don't expect sellers to hold items. The first to pay takes it away!
Being early is a good trait - but do not expect sellers to be open early
Be courteous and supportive - remember these neighbors are your community
Sellers - here are some tips and tricks for you too:
Be prepared to open on time, if not a little early
Have enough change on hand for cash transactions based on what you're selling
Want to set up digital payments? Plan ahead and get Venmo, CahsApp, Apple Pay, etc, all set up on your device
Clearly price your items
Always have a free, or reduced price, area for items that you want to move quickly
If you have a specific area that people should not park make sure to mark it and block it early
Plan for the weather - shelters for rain and shade for sun
What Happens After the Sale?
Thanks to our partnership with Pottsboro City any waste and things you wish to trash can be left on the curb that week for haul away! - the Monday following the sale is the great PURGE trash run...
